A Cold Summer’s Night

Spent last night wrapped in a blanket enjoying the English summer weather at an outside concert at Blickling Hall. Yes, I went to see Cliff Richard’s Reelin’ and A-Rockin’ Midsummer Nights concert. Fantastic choice of songs from good old rock ‘n’ roll to the favourite sing-alongs; I’d forgotten how good he was. Everybody, and I mean everybody, were on their feet at the end singing and bopping along.

It is the first outside concert I have been to where you haven’t been left to your own devices to get out of the car park; stewards were there to get everybody moving. The concert finished at 10.00 pm, an easy well lit walk to the car, drive to one of many exits and away. Even as you emerged from the estate there were road signs conveniently placed with directions. It meant your enjoyable evening wasn’t spoilt by queuing for hours to get out of the one exit provided. A very well organised event.

Let’s hope I am still reelin’ and a-rockin’ like Cliff when I’m 72!
